RESILIENCE GUARD ACADEMY, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION

The 7A Risk Management Framework Training and Certification.

A complete learning pathway that turns risk management into risk leadership. Three levels build the capability to read, lead and certify risk the way boards now need it, from first awareness to certified Lead and Assessor.

Why this programme

From risk management to risk leadership

The 7A Risk Management Framework is the proprietary operating model developed by Resilience Guard to separate two questions that traditional methods collapse into one: how exposed the organisation really is, and how much justified confidence leadership can place in that picture. This programme is how individuals and organisations learn to use it.

Boards and executives are no longer judged on whether a risk process exists. They are judged on the quality of the decisions that process enables, and increasingly held personally accountable for them. Conventional enterprise risk management, built on probability and impact and on backward looking assurance, tends to produce comfort rather than insight. It confirms that controls are documented without establishing whether they will hold under stress.

Delivered by Resilience Guard Academy, the training arm of an award winning Swiss firm trusted to train resilience teams within three of the world's four largest professional services networks, the 7A pathway is built and delivered by practitioners who apply the framework in live engagements.

The pathway

Three levels, one discipline

Level 1, 7A Foundation. Approximately one day, open entry, examination and certificate. The starting point for board members, executives, managers, compliance, internal audit and anyone new to the framework. Builds a clear, common grasp of decision centred risk: the two dimensions, the four quadrants of the 7A Risk Evaluation Matrix and the seven capabilities, and how to read what the framework produces. Includes a structured student companion, a knowledge examination and the Resilience Guard Academy Foundation certificate.
Level 2, 7A Professional. Approximately two to three days, Foundation level command recommended. For the people who will actually run the framework: risk managers, continuity, information security and resilience leads, second line and assurance professionals, and consultants. Moves from understanding to application, covering exposure across impact severity, likelihood under stress, velocity and cascade; confidence through control reliability and strength of assurance; appetite and tolerance as live decision boundaries; and defensibility under NIS2, DORA and Swiss duties. Includes accreditation in the framework's scoring discipline through a controlled component.
Level 3, 7A Lead and Assessor. A governed qualification journey. The senior tier for those who will lead implementations and train, assess and certify others. Awarded through a six stage scheme: application, programme, knowledge, supervised practice, an independent evaluation panel, and an impartial certification decision made independently of the training. Valid for three years, renewed by recertification, held under an enforceable code of professional conduct.
Governance

A certificate that means the same thing in every hand

The Lead and Assessor credential is governed for trust: those who train a candidate do not decide whether that candidate is certified. The scheme is supported by a full competency standard, an assessment toolkit, a code of professional conduct, and surveillance and recertification, designed to be consistent with the recognised principles for certifying people.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the 7A Risk Management Framework?+

The 7A Risk Management Framework is Resilience Guard's proprietary risk operating model. It treats exposure and confidence as two independent dimensions, reads them on the 7A Risk Evaluation Matrix with four governance states, and operates through seven capabilities that form a continuous loop.

Do I need prior risk qualifications to start?+

No. 7A Foundation is open entry and requires no prior risk qualification. It is designed to give board members, executives and professionals across the three lines a common command of the framework's language and outputs.

What does the Professional level add?+

Professional moves from understanding to application: assessing exposure and confidence, operating the governance loop, producing board ready decision narratives, and accreditation in the framework's scoring discipline through a controlled component.

How is the Lead and Assessor credential awarded?+

Through a governed, six stage qualification journey: application and eligibility review, trainer and assessor development, a knowledge assessment, supervised practice, an independent evaluation panel, and an impartial certification decision made independently of the training. It is valid for three years and renewed by recertification.

Can the pathway run in house?+

Yes. Foundation and Professional run publicly, in house and blended, and can be tailored to your sector and your regulatory obligations, including NIS2, DORA and Swiss duties.
